diagnosis

I finally got a diagnosis. I have de Quervain's Tenosynovitis.

We think when I lifted something at work, that triggered it, and not knowing I had it, it kept flaring up. I've been told to ice it 3 times a day, for an hour, 20 mins on, 20 mins off, take motrin, and avoid movements that aggravate it.
I also need to get an xray, to make sure nothing is wrong there, and also, I may need steroid injections if things don't improve. I'm hoping that I can get it feeling better and not need them.

I hope everyone had a nice Easter!

Cheers,
CA

What is Quervain's Tenosynovitis, how is it caused, and what aggravates it?

Sorry to be a pain, and apologies if you've already posted the reply-- although I couldn't see it!

*hugs* Glad you have a diagnosis-- they're damn hard to get anywhere! I do hope you've been given sufficient information on how to deal with it, because information is the key!

:)

Thanks for the support. I'll post something about De Quervain's soon.

I was given good info. I'm a little scared b/c my poor hand has been through the wringer-I have severe tendonitis in it anyways-so this isn't good for me, or my writing. But I'll deal. :)
